A slot created by a single developer has clocked up more than one million bets in its first week since launch.

Scroll Keeper, created by Josh Surin at Paperclip Gaming, is powered by Stake Engine and features colourful visuals and immersive animations.

Surin said that while studios typically spend 18 months developing a single game, he has successfully brought three titles; Scroll Keeper, Borrowed Time, and Deadspin Bonanza, to market in just five months.

“To understand maths in traditional slot games takes a long time. You need to make adjustments during the test, and it is time-consuming; using Stake Engine we reduce this to 10 minutes, which transforms what we are usually accustomed to in the igaming space,” he said.

Surin is one of more than 4,000 game developers who Stake says are looking to use the Stake Engine platform to develop and release their games.

The system offers software development kits, including math and front-end frameworks, which companies can use to expedite their game development process.

Once a game is ready to launch, it is published and hosted on the remote gaming server and made available to all the operators that use the Stake platform. This gives developers of all sizes market access to millions of players.

Another company that uses the Stake Engine is online gaming studio Twist Gaming. It produced some of the most played games on the Stake platform in the first quarter of 2025, including Realm of Rats, Lab of Lunacy, and Samurai Dogs Unleashed.

Twist Gaming Art Director Jake Nesbit added, “The Stake Engine transforms game creation, simplifying processes and empowering quick game launches. This efficiency is evident in titles like Pixel Farm, which reached over one million bets last month, and Pixel Cafe, with more than three million bets.”

Earlier this year, Stake promised to compensate its Colombian players with a new Cashback IVA promotion, which will credit a bonus to users to cover the 19% VAT imposed by the Colombian government.
