Paysafe expands in Peru with launch of PagoEfectivo digital wallet

Payments platform Paysafe is expanding its presence in Peru by transforming its eCash brand, PagoEfectivo, into a digital wallet.
The new PagoEfectivo wallet is the group’s first in the Latin American market. It offers users instant fund loading, online purchases, immediate merchant payouts, P2P transfers, and code-based payments.
“Consumers in Peru already trust PagoEfectivo for everything from igaming and digital goods to travel and ecommerce. With the launch of our new digital wallet, we’re giving them a more convenient way to pay – one that reflects Paysafe’s commitment to powering the experiential economy,” Bruce Lowthers, CEO of Paysafe, said in a news release.
“Our recent survey with Peruvian consumers found that 81% would use a digital wallet from PagoEfectivo. With that strong sign, we’re launching a solution that meets consumers’ payment needs,” added Esteban Sarubbi, Vice President, Head of Latin America at Paysafe.
PagoEfectivo also announced acclaimed Peruvian actor Carlos Alcántara (Cachín) as its new brand ambassador. Alcántara will front a nationwide campaign showcasing the wallet’s ease and convenience across TV, digital, and outdoor media.
In January, the payments platform also was granted a license to enter Brazil’s new market.
