Nguyen Le lands BetMGM Poker Championship comeback win

Poker player Nguyen Le has pulled off an impressive comeback to win the 2025 BetMGM Poker Championship at ARIA Resort and Casino, winning his best-ever prize of US$777,777.
Down to just one chip with 11 players left in the tournament, he defied the odds and defeated Ashish Ghosh in heads-up play to win the prize title.
The US$3,500 buy-in event attracted 1,853 entries and almost doubled the US$3 million guarantee prize pool to US$5.9 million, the largest in the tournament’s history.
For Le, the win was worth more than his total lifetime earnings. His previous biggest win was US$425,000 in January this year.
The final table featured Ghosh, who earned US$752,282 for coming second, and Yaniv Peretz, who took third with US$590,348.
Senior Manager of Poker at BetMGM, David Mileaf, commented, “Congratulations to Nguyen Le on possibly the most epic poker comeback of the summer that captured the wild swings and emotions of poker. Thank you to the players and to our partner, MGM Resorts International, for making this year’s event a record-breaking success.”
This was the fourth edition of the BetMGM Poker Championship, which has grown significantly since its debut in 2022. The number of entries is up 440% compared to the first year, while the prize pool has increased by 436%.
The BetMGM Poker Championship avoided technical issues seen at recent poker competitions, including a WSOP bracelet event canceled in June.
