Inspired Entertainment has expanded its partnership with BetMGM by launching its virtual sports portfolio across its BetMGM and Borgata Online platforms in New Jersey.

Under the agreement, Inspired will provide BetMGM’s New Jersey platforms with V-Play Soccer, V-Play Basketball, and V-Play NFL-themed Football, with Inspired describing the latter as the first NFL-themed virtual sports product available on a sportsbook.

All three titles are already available at BetMGM in Ontario, where the company said it had built a strong player base.

“We are pleased to expand our partnership with BetMGM and Borgata to bring our proven virtual sports products to their New Jersey sportsbook,” said Brooks Pierce, President and Chief Executive of Inspired Entertainment.

“Our V-Play Soccer, Basketball, and V-Play NFL-themed Football products have demonstrated strong performance across regulated markets, driving meaningful incremental revenue and engagement for our operator partners. This launch underscores the growing role Virtual Sports play in modern sportsbooks, where companies that position Virtual Sports within their sportsbook, rather than their online casino, consistently generate higher revenues.”

BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost added, “Inspired Entertainment is a leader in virtual sports and expanding our partnership represents an important milestone in elevating BetMGM and Borgata Online’s offerings in New Jersey. Inspired’s V-Play portfolio delivers the premium, engaging sports content and results from Ontario have shown a positive player response,”

This comes after Inspired partnered with online casino Betly in West Virginia back in January.

The Backstory

New Jersey move caps a steady virtual sports buildup

Inspired Entertainment’s rollout of V-Play Soccer, V-Play Basketball and an NFL-themed virtual football title on BetMGM and Borgata Online in New Jersey follows a methodical push to put always-on sports simulations inside mainstream betting funnels. The company has argued that operators earn more when virtuals sit inside the sportsbook rather than the casino lobby, and New Jersey offers a high-traffic proving ground where BetMGM can test that thesis at scale. The same portfolio is already live with BetMGM in Ontario, where the operator reported solid player response, giving this launch a performance baseline and a playbook for placement, promotion and pricing.

The NFL-branded virtual football product carries strategic weight. With real football limited by seasonality and game cadence, a licensed simulation that deals outcomes every few minutes can smooth engagement and handle volatility between live events. It also gives BetMGM a differentiator in a mature market where rivals chase the same parlays and props. The New Jersey deployment arrives as Inspired broadens distribution through both operator partnerships and platform integrations that target growth in the Americas and beyond.

BetMGM’s broader virtuals push reaches Brazil

New Jersey is not a one-off. Earlier, Inspired and BetMGM extended their collaboration into Latin America with a localized suite tailored to a soccer-first audience. Through a tie-up with Kambi, the companies introduced virtuals in Brazil, including a custom V-Play Football (Brazil) designed to mirror local styles and fan expectations. The launch uses Kambi’s Engage tools to refine presentation and betting flows, underscoring how virtuals now ride the same merchandising rails as live sports.

For BetMGM, adding virtuals in Brazil aligns with a phased international expansion strategy and a need to diversify content in a market shaped by soccer calendars and fluctuating in-play liquidity. For Inspired, Brazil’s scale offers test-and-learn opportunities on localized art, commentary, pricing and bet menus that can inform future rollouts in Spanish-speaking Latin America. The South American debut also signals that virtuals are transitioning from a niche gap filler to a permanent sportsbook category with its own road map, seasonal promos and retention use cases.

Platform partners widen the pipe

Inspired has complemented flagship operator deals with platform-level distribution that puts virtuals in front of more bettors across more jurisdictions. A recent agreement to supply content to the Altenar sportsbook platform opens doors in over 30 countries where Altenar operates. The sportsbook supplier, which expanded with a new São Paulo office as it courts Latin American clients, gives Inspired a scalable integration layer that can activate multiple operators without bespoke builds each time.

This model matters because virtuals benefit from predictable scheduling and broad availability. A single integration can syndicate the same events grid to dozens of operators, standardizing markets and settling rules while allowing for local branding. Altenar’s footprint in Peru and Brazil dovetails with the BetMGM and Kambi collaboration, potentially accelerating network effects as more bettors encounter similar virtual formats and pricing conventions across sites. Those effects can lift liquidity, even in simulated markets, by creating familiarity with bet types and cadence.

Ilottery proves the format can go mainstream

Virtual sports are also crossing into government lotteries, expanding their addressable audience beyond core sportsbook users. In the United States, the Virginia Lottery became the first ilottery to add the category, launching VSports through a collaboration among Aristocrat Interactive, NeoPollard Interactive and Inspired. The program, delivered via Aristocrat’s Fusion aggregation system, offers football, basketball and horse racing draw games that run every two to three minutes and are resolved with a certified random number generator.

That format aligns with lottery draw mechanics while tapping sports fan behaviors, broadening acquisition channels for virtuals. For lotteries, the attraction is incremental play between big-ticket draws and potential new revenue streams that support public funding goals. For Inspired, ilottery validation signals regulatory comfort with simulated outcomes and creates a showcase it can reference in other state and provincial markets weighing digital expansion.

Omnichannel momentum in Atlantic City’s orbit

BetMGM has been knitting together on-property and online experiences in New Jersey, a strategy that helps explain its appetite for new, high-frequency content like virtuals. The operator recently introduced Dual Play Baccarat with Evolution, streaming a live Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa table to remote players via multiple cameras. That followed Dual Play Roulette’s rollout in 2023. These games let online users play alongside in-casino patrons, tightening the link between digital and brick-and-mortar play.

Virtual sports extend that connectivity by filling downtime between live dealer sessions and real sporting events with familiar, fast-resolving bets. In combination, the portfolio allows BetMGM to keep bettors inside its ecosystem longer and to cross-sell more effectively. As retail sportsbooks and online casinos vie for share of wallet in a market with flatlining promotional spend, sustained session time and efficient engagement loops become strategic levers. Virtuals are built for that job.

Rivals push into the Americas, raising the stakes

The New Jersey launch lands as Inspired deepens ties with another major operator in the region. The company recently extended its deal with Rush Street Interactive to add content in Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Delaware, following earlier go-lives in Pennsylvania, Michigan and New Jersey. Under the pact, RushBet and BetRivers will feature Inspired’s portfolio, creating multiple touchpoints across regulated markets where cross-sell from sportsbooks to casino content is routine.

More distribution means Inspired must keep differentiating its catalog and analytics. Localized titles like V-Play Football (Brazil) and licensed sports brands aim to do that, as do placement strategies that prioritize the sportsbook lobby. Earlier in the year, the company also expanded with online casino Betly in West Virginia, signaling a willingness to seed presence in smaller states ahead of broader sportsbook adoption.

The competitive picture is shifting as operators demand content that can monetize beyond peak seasons. With U.S. sports calendars and Latin American soccer rhythms leaving gaps, virtuals promise round-the-clock action without rights costs or weather risk. But regulators will scrutinize placement, disclosures and responsible gaming tools, especially as simulated events mimic real leagues. Success in New Jersey, Brazil and Virginia will influence how quickly other states, provinces and operators move, and whether virtual sports become a permanent row on the sportsbook menu or remain a tactical plug for quiet periods.
