Edinburgh-based B2B games provider Incentive Games has been awarded a provisional Michigan gaming license by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

The approval marks the company’s first step into the regulated North American market as an independent operator. However, the company already has games distributed in the US and Canada by its partner Light & Wonder.

The license comes soon after Incentive Games launched its new real-money gaming division, Incentive Studios.

According to Incentive Games, the Michigan license is a testament to its dedication to upholding the strictest security, compliance, and responsible gaming guidelines.

Ahmed Baker, Chief Commercial Officer at Incentive Games, said, “Securing our Michigan license marks an exciting new chapter for Incentive Games, it’s a testament to our unwavering commitment to meeting the highest regulatory standards and unlocks a significant opportunity for us in a critical North American growth market.”

Baker added that the license will allow the company to form new partnerships and bring its real-money games to Michigan players. He also thanked the Michigan Gaming Control Board for the approval, calling it an important step in Incentive Games’ global expansion strategy.

That global expansion has been clear throughout 2025, with January 2025 bringing a partnership with Bet365 to launch its Velocity crash game in the newly opened and regulated Brazilian online casino market.
