Betsson obtains Brazil gaming license

Swedish operator Betsson has been granted a gaming license to operate in Brazil, which took effect on 25 February.
Betsson will provide its online casino and sports betting platform to Brazilian players, including casino, poker, bingo, and scratch card-themed games for users to enjoy.
Prior to the license approval, Betsson had been active in Latin American markets for up to 10 years, holding operator licenses in various countries in the region, including Argentina, Colombia, and Peru.
Pontus Lindwall, President and Chief Executive Officer of Betsson, said, “We welcome the introduction of a local regulatory framework in Brazil and are pleased to have obtained a licence. This step aligns with our strategy to grow via geographical expansion, and we look forward to offering Brazilian customers a secure and high-quality gaming experience.”
Betsson recently renewed its partnership with the Argentine football team Club Atlético Boca Juniors.
The partnership was renewed on 20 January, and Betsson will remain the club’s main sponsor and jersey partner until December 2028.
The Brazilian online gambling market became regulated on 1 January, and since then, multiple online operators have been granted gaming licenses for the region.
