Total igaming revenue for January 2025 added up to US$762.2 million compared to US$615.4 million in January 2024.

Michigan

Michigan’s online casinos set another record for igaming revenue in January at US$248.2 million, beating the previous high of US$244 million recorded in December 2024.

Michigan’s 14 online casino operators paid US$43.7 million in igaming taxes compared to US$41.4 million in 2024. Detroit-based operators paid US$11.8 million to the city, US$5 million went to the various tribal governments, and US$26.9 million went to the state.

New Jersey

For the month of January 2025, New Jersey’s internet-gaming win was US$221.6 million, reflecting growth of 20.9% when compared to US$183.3 million reported for January 2024.

Golden Nugget (FanDuel) generated US$49.7 million compared to US$39.3 million in 2024. Borgata/BetMGM won US$48.8 million compared to US$42 million last year. Resorts World (DraftKings) earned US$44.1 million compared to US$40.8 million.

New Jersey collected US$33 million in taxes for the month compared to US$27.4 million year over year.

Pennsylvania

Online casino gaming in Pennsylvania generated US$210.1 million in January, a whopping 40.5% increase over the previous year’s US$133.1 million. The total falls short of the record US$223.6 million set in December 2024.

Slots accounted for US$158.6 million compared to US$149.8 million, tables US$48.9 million versus US$36.9 million, and poker US$2.5 million, down from US$2.9 million.

Pennsylvania collected US$93.9 million in igaming taxes compared to US$55.6 million in January 2024.

Connecticut

Igaming in Connecticut jumped to US$46 million in January 2025 compared to US$41.5 million in January 2024.

DraftKings and FanDuel, the two main online casino operators, paid US$8.3 million in taxes compared to US$6.4 million year over year.

West Virginia

West Virginia’s online casinos generated US$24.9 million in revenue in January compared to the prior year’s US$16 million. It was the second-highest total for any month and a 56% year-over-year increase.

Delaware

January was the first month of accurate year-over-year comparisons for the First State (which includes the first state to launch an internet casino in late 2013). On January 1, 2024, BetRivers took over the igaming concession from 888 and immediately more than doubled the monthly win – and that was without online poker, which still hasn’t returned.

In January 2025, BetRivers won US$7.9 million from the state’s barely one million residents as compared to US$3.4 million in January 2024. Online slots won US$5.3 million, while table games took in US$2.5 million.

Rhode Island

Rhode Island’s igaming revenue, monopolized by Bally’s, set a new record in December of US$3.7 million after dropping to US$2.5 million in November. (Rhode Island reports in the first week of the second month, so January’s numbers will show up in early March). For January, we’re splitting the difference between October’s more normal US$3.2 million and December’s US$3.7 million to estimate US$3.5 million, which will be updated in two weeks.
