Robinhood has launched new prediction markets, allowing users to trade on the NFL and college football.

The trading platform plans to offer the markets for the first two weeks of the respective seasons and hopes to eventually add weekly sports betting markets.

Robinhood Markets Vice President of Futures and International JB Mackenzie believes this was the obvious next step for the company. “Adding pro and college football to our prediction markets hub is a no-brainer for us as we aim to make Robinhood a one-stop shop for all your investing and trading needs,” he said.

The move is part of a wider strategic push the company is making into the sports gambling market.

It follows comments by Chief Financial Officer Jason Warnick in a Q2 earnings call that the company is seeing strong engagement in sports gambling.

Yet, according to Robinhood, the new markets will differ from traditional online sports wagering offered in regulated states and will instead resemble something similar to stock trading, allowing buyers and sellers to engage with one another to help set the price.

Robinhood isn’t the only prediction platform to offer new NFL-based markets. Rival platform Kalshi also announced this week that it would be offering its own markets for the upcoming season.
