Likewise, financial year figures published by the Rhode Island Lottery show that slots were more popular among Ocean State players.

More than US$280.6 million was bet on slots, while players wagered US$194.5 million on table games. In December, players wagered US$54.4 million on islots and US$42.7 million on itables.

Net gaming revenue is calculated by the combined wagers minus the prizes paid out. It is used to determine the taxes paid to the state. Rhode Island has one of the highest tax rates on online gaming revenue at 51%.

Rhode Island became the seventh US state to legalize online casinos in 2023, with the first and only licensed platform launching in March 2024.
