Pennsylvania igaming up 40.5% year-on-year in January

Online gaming casino revenue totaled US$210.1 million in Pennsylvania in January, up 40.5% from US$149.5 million produced the previous year.
According to figures from the the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, online slots generated the majority of gaming revenue in January.
In total, US$158.6 million was collected in revenue from online slots, while online table games, including blackjack and roulette, produced US$48.9 million. Online poker was US$2.6 million.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course reported the highest igaming revenue for the month, reporting US$79.7 million, a 57.9% increase from the previous year. Following this, Valley Forge Casino Resort produced the second-highest amount at US$57.6 million, a 38.5% rise.
Golden Nugget reported the most significant change of the month, with a 251.7% increase from US$2.1 million to US$7.4 million year-over-year.
Only one operator reported a revenue decline for January. Parx Casino’s revenue dropped from US$5.4 million to US$4.5 million year-over-year, a 15.4% decline.
Sports revenue in the state totaled $51.5 million for January, with online sports betting responsible for $49.2 million of that.
Pennsylvania legalized online casinos in 2017, and since then, the Pennsylvania Gaming Board has licensed 12 online casino operators.
January marks the fourth consecutive month in which igaming revenue was above US$200 million and the second-highest total since December 2024.
