PAGCOR voided more than PHP200 million in winnings from government employees

2025-09-08Powered by CMG CurrenShift that we have voided, or we did not award prizes hit by these restricted persons: elected LGU officials, government employees. Even if they make an appeal, we will never give them their winnings,” Chairman and CEO of PAGCOR Alegandro Tengco said.
PAGCOR also received backlash when Henry Alancantra, District Engineer of the Department of Public Works and Highways, and his colleagues admitted to playing in casinos and were subsequently dismissed.
In August, the Philippines’ Department of the Interior and Local Government issued a memorandum expanding the gambling ban for government workers to include igaming. According to the department, any worker found in breach of the order will face administrative and/or criminal sanctions.
