The North Carolina State Lottery Commission regulates eight online sportsbook operators, including Underdog Sportsbook, Fanatics Sportsbook, DraftKings, FanDuel, Bet365, ESPN Bet, Caesars Sportsbook, and BetMGM.

North Carolina bettors have won over US$5.9 billion over the past 12 months. The State Lottery Commission also revealed that operators are taxed 18%, bringing US$128 million into state coffers.

Tax revenue from legal sports betting supports collegiate and youth sports in North Carolina and the state’s General Fund. Additionally, US$2 million a year is provided to the North Carolina Problem Gambling Program to support gambling addiction.

North Carolina State Lottery Commission Chief Regulatory Officer Eric Snider said, “The work of enhancing our strong sports wagering program continues today. Our staff regulates sports wagering activity in our state while creating a framework that will allow for the addition of pari-mutuel horse race wagering in North Carolina. We continue to build on this success while ensuring a safe, responsible, and beneficial wagering program for all North Carolinians.”
