New Zealand bans offshore sports betting

An amendment to the Racing Industry Act 2020 in New Zealand took effect on 28 June and bans offshore betting operators from accepting wagers from New Zealand residents.
The amendment will solidify TAB New Zealand’s position as the totalisator monopoly for the country’s sports betting and horse racing industries and benefit its 25-year partnership with operator Entain.
