New Hampshire has set another sports betting record, contributing US$39 million to public education in the fiscal year ending 30 June, up from the previous record of US$37 million in 2023.

The New Hampshire Lottery reported more than 27 million wagers totalling US$815 million over the year, both figures were up around 9% from last year.

Since online and retail sports betting launched in December 2019, players have placed over 107 million bets worth nearly US$5 billion, generating US$153 million for schools.

According to the Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery, Charlie McIntyre, the single-vendor partnership with operator DraftKings was a key factor, despite industry debate over whether multiple vendors produce more competition and revenue.

Major sporting events such as the Super Bowl and March Madness, which drove online betting for DraftKings in states like New York, led the action over the year, generating US$27.5 million in combined wagers.

Last November, the state also hit a monthly record with more than US$75 million bet, fueled by Thanksgiving NFL games and an extended college football schedule.

Meanwhile, the latest state budget introduces new measures for responsible gambling, including a voluntary self-exclusion database and expanded addiction support funding.
