Michigan igaming rises 88.1% year-over-year in June

Michigan’s online operators have generated US$256.5 million in adjusted gross receipts in June, an 88.1% year-over-year increase compared to last year’s US$136.4 million.
The figures, published by the Michigan Gaming Control Board, report that of the combined total, igaming contributed US$226 million, rising from $164.6 million, a year-over-year increase of 37.3%.
Internet sports betting also reported year-over-year growth in June, with AGR rising to US$30.5 million, a US$58.7 million increase. The monthly sports betting handle also rose year-over-year, rising from US$278.6 million to US$302.7 million, an 8.7% increase.
Yet, despite year-over-year growth, igaming AGR dropped 4.3% month-over-month from US$236.2 million reported in May. Internet sports betting also declined compared to May’s figure, decreasing from US$35.6 million, a 14.4% drop.
Additionally, online operators submitted US$48.9 million in state taxes and payments, including US$47.1 million from igaming and US$1.8 million from sports betting, while tribal operators reported US$5.8 million in payments to their governing bodies.
