Michigan igaming revenue rises 33.9% to US$233.1 million in April

Michigan’s igaming sector generated US$233.1 million in adjusted gross receipts in April, a 33.9% year-on-year rise, according to a monthly report from the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
This is a significant rise from last April’s total of US$174.8 million, although it is down slightly from March 2025’s return of US$246 million.
The highest revenue contributions came from two of Detroit’s licensed casino venues. Motor City Casino recorded $63 million in revenue and MGM Detroit generated $61 million, representing year-over-year rises of 33.8% and 40.7%, respectively.
There are fifteen casinos operating in Michigan, and all are licensed for online casino gaming and sports betting, but the igaming sector is a far greater driver of revenue.
The US$233.1 million generated in April represented almost 90% of total revenue from the online gambling sector, with sports betting contributing just US$26.8 million.
The year-on-year rise is good news for the Michigan government and for the city of Detroit. State tax receipts from the igaming sector for the month reached US$48.2 million, while Detroit’s three commercial casinos contributed US$13.1 million to the city treasury.
