Michigan igaming revenue reaches US$331.2 million in January

Michigan’s online gaming and sports revenue reached US$331.2 million last month, an increase of 25.4% compared to December 2024, as reported by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board is responsible for regulating and licensing online gambling in Michigan. It currently licenses 15 commercial and tribal operators to offer online casino gaming and/or sports betting in Michigan.
In January, the regulator reported US$248.2 million in total gross gaming revenue for online casinos, a 1.7% increase from the previous month.
On the other hand, revenue from sports betting reached a total of US$83 million. This was significantly higher than the US$20.2 million made in December, a 310% increase, despite the fact that the total amount wagered decreased by 7.1%.
In January, the state of Michigan collected a total of US$46.8 million in taxes from online gambling operators.
Online casino gaming generated US$43.7 million in taxes and fees, while the amount received from sportsbook operators totaled US$3.1 million. These taxes fund schools and addiction education and prevention programs throughout the state.
