The Michigan Gaming Control Board has issued a cease-and-desist letter to the online gaming platform MyBookie.ag and its Curacao-registered parent company Duranbah Limited N.V.

MyBookie.ag had offered a variety of casino games, including slot, table games, and betting services, to Michigan players without a valid gambling license.

After an investigation, the Board found that MyBookie.ag had breached several gambling laws, including the Lawful Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and the Michigan Penal Code.

Henry Williams, Executive Director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board, said, “Our investigation into MyBookie.ag found that their operations were accessible to Michigan citizens, which violates state laws. We are taking strong action to uphold the principles of fair and legal gaming.”

The cease-and-desist letter has given Duranbah a deadline of 14 days to remove its gambling services from Michigan while indicating the Michigan Gaming Control Board is prepared to work with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office to pursue legal action if it fails to comply.

This isn’t the first cease-and-desist letter the Michigan Gaming Control Board has sent to illegal operators, with the regulator recently sending a letter to Papaya Gaming, which operated Bingo Cash, Bubble Cash, and 21 Cash.

Meanwhile, the Michigan Gaming Control Board issued Bovada Sportsbook with a cease-and-desist letter in May 2024.
