Light & Wonder becomes first licensed igaming supplier in the Philippines
Gambling supplier and games aggregator Light & Wonder has become the first PAGCOR-licensed supplier for e-gaming in the Philippines.
Light & Wonder, which only operates in regulated markets, counts the Philippines as its 47th market.
Speaking ahead of the IAG Expo in Manila on Monday, the supplier described its plan to leverage its existing relationships with land-based operators and lead with its omnichannel gaming content.
Expanding on news of the accreditation, Light & Wonder Vice President of Commercial Magdalena Podhorska-Okolow said the company wouldn’t be “reinventing the wheel”.
“We’ve had a lot of relationships, and we know what’s working in the market today,” she explained. “We know which game families are working. We know which games the Filipino players have learned to love over the years, and these are the games and the IP that we’ll be bringing digital versions of.”
Podhorska-Okolow said the focus now was to build on the company’s existing relationships in the region and nurture those that are newer.
Light & Wonder’s aggregation platform enables operators to access more than 5,000 games titles from over 100 studios, with flexible jackpot and promotions features that can be layered over any game.
“We’ve also scaled our bandwidth to 130,000 transactions per minute. And of course, that is flexible. If we do need to increase that, or decrease that, we’re ready for that from a technological standpoint,” Podhorska-Okolow added.
She said the company had “satisfied all of the platform requirements and accreditation” and has already started integrations with operators in the Philippines.
