LA Dodgers break BetMGM World Series betting record
The MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers have broken preseason betting records at BetMGM, drawing the highest percentage of betting handle on World Series winner bets of any team in history.
The Dodgers have drawn over 37% of preseason future betting handle on teams to win the 2025 World Series, far exceeding the previous record set by the 2022 New York Mets at 21.7%. That season, the Houston Astros beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 to win a second World Series title.
The Dodgers’ nearest competitor ahead of the 2025 season is the New York Mets, which have attracted 9% of the betting handle. Meanwhile, the New York Yankees have drawn in 7.5% of the handle.
While the Dodgers have a significant advantage in handle percentage, that drops when looking at overall ticket percentage or the number of bets placed rather than the value of those bets.
The franchise still leads with 17.2% of tickets, followed again by the New York Mets with 8.4%. The Philadelphia Phillies also cover 8.4% of all bets at BetMGM.
BetMGM also released information on the American League and National League MVP handle and ticket percentage leaders, among other MLB betting data points.
BetMGM has been an official betting partner of the MLB since 2018, expanding this partnership in July 2022 to include BetMGM marketing across league and team platforms.
