Kentucky online sportsbook wagers up 15.5% YoY in March

Wagers for Kentucky’s online sportsbooks reached US$284.9 million in March, up from the previous year’s recorded total of US$246.5 million, representing a 15.5% year-on-year increase.

The Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Commission regulates eight online sportsbooks in the state, including DraftKings, Penn Sports Interactive, Circa Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook, Bet365, BetMGM, and FanDuel.

Combined adjusted gross revenue was US$18.8 million, down from US$20.9 million in March 2024, marking a year-on-year decrease of 10%. Kentucky excise tax, with operators taxed at 14.25%, also decreased in March, dropping from US$2.9 million to US$2.6 million.

DraftKings reported the highest wagers of the eight regulated sportsbooks, recording US$104.7 million. This was up from last year’s US$101 million, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%. The sportsbook also reported the highest revenue in March 2025 at US$95.9 million, up from the previous year’s US$92.3 million.

This was closely followed by FanDuel, which recorded $98.6 million in wagers last month, rising 16.5% year-on-year from US$84.6 million. Yet, FanDuel’s revenue declined in March, dropping from US$7.9 million to $6.3 million.

However, Penn Interactive experienced the most significant decline last month, with wagers dropping from US$11.4 million to US$7.6 million, a 32.5% year-on-year decrease, and revenue down from US$967,262 to US$472,371, a 51.1% year-on-year decline.
