IC360 alert sparks investigation into Michigan basketball

Integrity Compliance 360 has sent out an alert to its clients concerning a men’s college basketball game after a bettor attempted to place a large wager on Central Michigan University’s home game against Eastern Michigan University.
The compliance consultancy sent the alert to sportsbooks, NCAA conferences, and state regulators to highlight the unusual wagering activity.
Following this, Integrity Compliance 360 conducted an investigation, resulting in an additional statement from the company to its clients that ESPN obtained.
According to ESPN, it said, “While investigating, the operator also found two other high stakes wagers from two accounts in a different jurisdiction, both on Central Michigan 1st Half spread.”
This isn’t the first suspicious betting alert Integrity Compliance 360 has sent out for a game involving Eastern Michigan basketball this season.
The company also highlighted suspicious betting on Eastern Michigan’s game against Wright State on 21 December.
A spokesperson for Eastern Michigan University told ESPN, “We became aware of the matter on Wednesday and a review is underway. At this time, we do not know anything further about what may have precipitated the suspicious activity. We are working with the Mid-American Conference and will provide further details as we learn additional information.”
Suspicious betting activity has been in the headlines in recent months, with high-profile cases such as Toronto Raptors’ Jontay Porter’s lifetime ban from the NBA last year bringing the issues into the spotlight.
