Gambling data intelligence firm H2 Gambling Capital has estimated that wagering on this year’s Super Bowl could exceed US$1 billion.

The 2025 Super Bowl will feature the same teams as 2023, with the Kansas City Chiefs again taking on the Philadelphia Eagles. Yet, analysts expect the US sports betting handle to be larger than ever. H2 Gambling Capital has projected that the wagers placed on the Super Bowl at licensed US sportsbooks could reach more than US$1.6 billion.

The projected figures would be a 17% increase from last year’s take, and the data suggests New York will have the highest handle per state.

H2 estimates that licensed sportsbooks in New York state could receive US$181 million in wagers.

“This will be the 11th time that New Orleans has hosted the Super Bowl, becoming the joint-most popular host city for the Super Bowl along with Miami,” H2 Gambling Capital said in a news release. “H2 expects a record amount of wagers will be riding on the game, the highest wagering on a single game in the United States.”
