Four college athletes from the New Orleans Privateers have been suspended since 27 January this year and are under investigation for violating NCAA policy, ESPN has reported.

NCAA bans student-athletes, coaches and staff members from participating in sports betting activities and providing information to people who may influence the outcome of a game.

The student-athletes involved were revealed to be James White, Jah Short, Dae Dae Hunter and Jamond Vincent, all among the basketball team’s top five scorers. Basketball analyst Jeff Goodman broke the story on social media platform X.

University of New Orleans officials said the suspensions were because of an unspecified violation of team rules.

This is the second NCAA violation concerning college men’s basketball this week. On 25 February, it was revealed that three Fresno State basketball team players were accused of violating the NCAA’s gambling policy.
