Fantasy sports operator Sleeper signs IC360 partnership to boost safer gambling

Compliance integrity provider IC360 has partnered with fantasy sports operator Sleeper to provide responsible gambling monitoring through its ProhiBet technology.
The ProhiBet software landed the Responsible Gaming Award of the Year at the American Gambling Awards last year. It checks that people banned from participating in fantasy sports contests are not attempting to use a regulated platform to play.
The partnership means that Sleeper will get real-time alerts from the prohibited bettor software if any banned person attempts to enter fantasy sports competitions through any of its brands.
“This partnership with Sleeper underscores IC360’s commitment to expanding the reach of ProhiBet across the sports and gaming ecosystem,” Scott Sadin, Chief Operating Officer of IC360, said in a statement. “By integrating ProhiBet, Sleeper is demonstrating its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and responsible gaming, ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience for all its users.”
Sleeper was founded in 2014 as an app-only football-focused product, but it has expanded to include basketball. It operates in 31 US states.
While sports officials and players in all the major leagues are banned from playing fantasy sports, the regulations governing these contests vary from state to state, which has created some integrity and legal issues for the industry.
“This collaboration enhances our ability to prevent prohibited individuals from entering our paid entry contests and reinforces our commitment to a fair and responsible play environment,” Sleeper’s Director of Legal Affairs Matt Hagerty said in a statement.
