FanDuel appoints SVP of Public Affairs and Head of Federal Affairs

FanDuel has strengthened its public policy expertise by hiring Shailagh Murray as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, and Jonathan Nabavi as new Vice President of Federal Affairs.
According to Fanduel, Murray brings years of expertise to the role, having previously been the Executive Vice President of Public Affairs at Columbia University.
She also spent six years working in the Obama administration, serving as a Senior Advisor to President Obama between 2015 and 2017 and deputy chief of staff and communications director to Vice President Biden before that.
Nabavi will also bring experience as he leaves his role at the NFL, which he has represented in front of Congress, the White House, and other agencies as the person in charge of the league’s public policy and legislative agenda.
Before that, Nabavi served as Majority Counsel for the US Senate Committee on the Judiciary and as Counsel for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
Christian Genetski, President at FanDuel, said, “As we look to the future, we understand the important role FanDuel must play in policy discussions that will address how we build and shape the online gaming industry over the long term.
“Shailagh and Jon bring decades of experience navigating difficult policy issues in a thoughtful, collaborative manner. We are confident they are the right leaders to work alongside key stakeholders to grow our industry responsibly and sustainably.”
