Fanatics Sportsbook partners with Boyd Gaming ahead of Missouri sports betting launch

Fanatics has agreed a multi-year licensing partnership with Boyd Gaming Corporation ahead of Missouri’s sports betting launch on 1 December.
The sportsbook will be one of around 12 different operators that will have been granted a tethered licence to take on sports wagers.
Boyd, which has the gaming licence that Fanatics will operate under, already has two casinos operating in the state, Ameristar Resort Casino Spa and Ameristar Casino.
The new deal means the companies’ sportsbooks on these casino sites will now be rebranded to Fanatics.
The deal is a move away from Boyd’s traditional partner FanDuel, whose sportsbooks normally reside in their properties outside of Nevada. However, on 19 August, the sportsbook operator announced it would instead partner with MLS team St. Louis City SC.
Among the other sportsbooks set to launch in the state, DraftKings and Circa Sports received the two untethered licenses, meaning they do not need partnerships to launch, while Bet365 has partnered with the St. Louis Cardinals, and BetMGM has partnered with Century Casinos.
Other operators will have until the 12 September deadline to develop partnerships with either a professional sports team or a retail casino.
