DraftKings launches new responsible gambling tool
DraftKings has debuted a new responsible gaming tool that helps users set limits and reminders for their betting.
The tool, dubbed My Budget Builder, will be available on all DraftKings platforms, including its daily fantasy sports, sportsbook, and online casino sites.
It is designed to guide players through the available budgeting options based on the amount they deposit, the size of wagers, the time spent on gambling, and losses. The tool then gives players the option of setting strict limits or receiving reminders.
These can be in effect for a day, a week, or a month, and once set, can’t be increased until the set time has ended.
In a statement about the launch, DraftKings’ Chief Responsible Gaming Officer, Lori Kalani, said the tool was proactive and personalized and played a key role in the company’s plan to promote safe gambling.
Kalani said, “It reflects our ongoing commitment to creating fun, enjoyable environments for our players. By enhancing how players engage with limit-setting, we are providing another resource that players can use to help them play responsibly.”
Last year, DraftKings launched My Stat Sheet, which gives players access to information on their gambling, including deposits, time spent on betting, and profit/loss figures. According to the company, the tool has generated more than 20 million visits since its debut.
The release of this new tool also reflects a growing emphasis in the gambling industry on user safeguards as lawmakers and others raise concerns about the rapid growth in the US gambling sector.
