DigiPlus and PhilFirst launch surety bond for player funds

Philippine operator DigiPlus Interactive has partnered with domestic insurance group Philippine First Insurance to launch a surety bond designed for online gaming.
The scheme, announced this week, guarantees customer funds will be safe on DigiPlus platforms and applies automatically to users who have completed electronic know-your-customer verification, made at least one successful deposit, and complied with platform rules.
No separate purchase is required from players.
According to DigiPlus, which is set to soon enter the Brazilian-regulated market, the bond provides an additional safeguard for customer funds as online gaming continues to expand in the Philippines.
DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco said, “DigiPlus is proud to be the first in the industry to roll out this level of consumer protection. We are committed to putting our players first. With this surety bond, they can play confidently on BingoPlus, ArenaPlus and GameZone, knowing that their funds are safeguarded.”
Philippine First added that the collaboration reflects efforts to adapt its services to changing markets, saying, “This surety bond is more than a product – it’s proof that PhilFirst is ready to safeguard customers wherever innovation takes them.”
Meanwhile, DigiPlus described the bond as part of a wider set of consumer protection measures that include customer support and physical service outlets.
