Connecticut gambling regulator reaches deal with High 5 Games

Connecticut’s Department of Consumer Protection has reached a deal with igaming services company High 5 Games over alleged violations of state law.
High 5 Games is licensed in Connecticut to develop and provide igaming content for state-owned platforms. However, its license was suspended in March for allegedly running an unlicensed casino.
High 5 Games has agreed to pay a fine of almost US$1.5 million. That settlement includes more than US$643,000 to customers who lost money playing games at High 5 Casino and just short of US$800,000 to be used in consumer education, protection, and litigation programs.
High 5 Games has had its license as an igaming service provider reinstated.
“We are pleased the Connecticut consumers who were lured into placing wagers on an unlicensed platform will be made whole, and that this company has ceased operations of its unlicensed casino in Connecticut,” Bryan T. Cafferelli, Commissioner of the Department of Consumer Protection, said in a news release.
There are two licensed online casino platforms in the state, one run by DraftKings in conjunction with the Foxwoods casino resort and the other by FanDuel in partnership with Mohegan Sun.
