Established in 1994, BetUS is an online gaming platform that offers a sportsbook, esports, casino, and horse racing. The operator has a reported million-plus global clientele but is not authorized to do business in Michigan.

An investigation by the Michigan Gaming Control Board confirmed that BetUS was accepting wagers from Michigan residents on sports and casino-style games, violating the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and the Michigan Penal Code.

Michigan Gaming Control Board Executive Director Henry Williams said, “Unlicensed operators like BetUS undermine the integrity of Michigan’s regulated gaming market and expose consumers to potential risks.”

BetUS has 14 days to comply with the cease-and-desist order by suspending all Michigan-related activity. If the operator fails to comply, the regulator has stressed that additional legal action may be taken in coordination with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.

In making its decision, the regulator reiterated that it has a duty to enforce the law to keep Michigan consumers safe and ensure that gaming operations remain within the regulated and legal environment.
